One example of our involvement in the community has been our support for the Northwest Michigan Habitat for Humanity, one of the 65 Habitat affiliates across the state. Michigan Habitat for Humanity affiliates builds homes in partnership with people in need.
The two-county affiliate recently needed to purchase a new van for picking up items donated to its ReStore thrift store, a primary means of funding operations and housing program services.
Because propane is such an important fuel in the area, the affiliate began researching the possibilities of purchasing a new vehicle that ran on propane Autogas.
Through our support, the affiliate bought a 2015 Ford Econoline van from a local dealer, qualifying for funding assistance from the Charlevoix Area Community Foundation and the Petroskey Harbor-Springs Area Community Foundation.
Motor Fuel Division in Midland installed the EPA certified liquid injection, bi-fuel engine system in the van and MPGA donated 1,000 gallons of Autogas (about a year’s supply) to the organization.
